If we'd done a season 3, I would have made an ogre team just to vent all my frustrations, but alas, it was not to be.Īh, I still remember he hilarious early ads in Dragon #136! I was sold right away! I had some heroic plays with the werewolves on occassion, but mostly I just got pummeled by the leveled up orc and wood elf teams. I did murder my friend's lizardman team, though: the first turn his hired brute knocked himself out on one of my zombies, his super-leveled up runner tripped and died, and a zombie murdered one of his team's strong guys. The second season I played the new (at the time) necromancer team, which just barely scraped through at all times. In other words, in the long run, the wood elves beat them cold.
The problem I had the first season was after selecting the skaven, who I love in theory, turned out to be cheaper wood elves that lacked a crucial skill (dodge) pretty much across the board, but with the outside chance of mutation. I can relate to playing a skillful team against a bashy team, though it perhaps wasn't as bad as you guys are painting it, so perhaps newer versions are kinder. My friends and I played two seasons of the last release of Blood Bowl, plus errata from the official web site.
